My name is Petros Lekatsas and I would like to welcome you to “Niki” Greek Language School  in Samothraki. I am going to be teaching you the modern Greek language for all levels, on line or in person, individually or in groups.

I was born in Athens in 1980 and raised in Piraeus. I am a graduate of the History and Archaeology department of the Kapodistrian University of Athens. I have taught Greek to refugees and immigrants in the Odysseas School in Thessaloniki. I have also taught Ancient and Modern Greek as well as History to Greek high school students. I have attended the Eurolta teacher’s training and have received certification from the international organization ICC (the International Language Association) for in person as well as on line teaching of the Greek language to adult students.

I am married and since 2010 I live in Samothraki. The past few years I have had sheep and produced traditional greek yogurt. I also cultivated the oregano of Samothraki. I love animals and I have two dogs and a cat. I like to read history, play chess, and grow and eat my own vegetables. Samothraki has changed my life and I can’t think of living anywhere else. I am interested in social and political developments and I like to meet other people’s cultures.

I await to share the journey to the Greek language with you…
